Fighting All Monsters Stands at the Frontlines, Fighting for Children and Families That Have Been Impacted by Childhood Cancer

Children all over the world are facing the dire consequences of an incurable disease. Childhood cancer is a massive plague on patients and families everywhere. Fortunately, Milk Tyson stands at the forefront of the fight against childhood cancer, establishing his own non-profit organization, Fighting All Monsters, more famously abbreviated as FAM.

Since 2018, Fighting All Monsters has been helping children fight cancer, taking the non-profit sector by storm through its innovative approach to charity. In 2020, FAM got the much-needed recognition it deserved with Diddy taking 12 kids and FAM on the Ellen Show. “We were ready to have our grand opening, but then COVID-19 came, and we had to restart,” said Milk Tyson.

Instead of throwing a big fancy gala for the donors to enjoy, Fighting All Monsters invited 60 moms from 30 states and flew them to Islamorada, Florida, in the Keys, all expenses paid. All of the flights were sponsored by the United Recovery Project. The participants had six waterfront mansions provided by Keys Ocean Views. They had private chefs for all catered meals, shows, fireworks, 24-hour beach massages, pedicures, manicures, facials, waxing.

There were several events such as excursions such as paddle boarding, sightseeing on boats, snorkeling for the entire group, and shopping trips. Everything was 100% free to all the moms. The invited moms all have kids who have childhood cancer or other medically complex conditions, with more than eleven of them recently losing their child to cancer.

The event was capped off with a special lantern release night which FAM called “Letters to Heaven,” where the moms who lost children wrote notes on Chinese lanterns and released them to heaven. Fighting All Monsters is declaring an all-out war on childhood cancer. With Milk Tyson at the helm, the organization is disrupting the non-profit sector as they continue to do things in a more aggressive and more accessible manner.

Most non-profit organizations reserve their best events for their donors, but FAM wants to build their organization differently, putting the actual people they serve in the limelight. “Being a cancer mom is the hardest thing in the world, and if we can help in any way, we will!” said Milk Tyson. “We also have a dad’s retreat coming up next, and we are looking for sponsors for that and for a cruise where we can take over an entire cruise ship and invite families.

FAM isn’t looking to host costly galas, entertain the same old circle of elite donors, or just sit around in endless deliberations regulating the appropriate way to distribute funds. Fighting All Monsters is appealing to donors who want to cut the red tape and get the donations directly to FAMilies.

Fighting All Monsters is breaking new ground within the realm of non-profit organizations. It is sending a clear message to the world that it is fully dedicated to helping families deal with childhood cancer. Milk Tyson has made sure that his non-profit organization runs smoothly and always operates for the purpose of his advocacies and the greater cause that FAM is fighting for.

Contemporary Abstract Artist David J. Marchi Shares His Awe-Inspiring Perspective of the World on Canvas

David J. Marchi is unlike most visual artists thriving in the world today. The contemporary abstract artist did not even have an inclination for painting most of his life until his boat accident in 2015 that resulted in a fractured back and an injury on both wrists. After that life-changing event, he started having dreams and unique perspectives and was inspired to paint them all without any formal training, coaching, and direct influence. He simply woke up one day and knew he could paint.

The late Dr. Darold Treffert diagnosed David J. Marchi with a rare condition known as Acquired Savant Syndrome, where dormant savant skills emerge after a spinal or brain injury or disease in previously non-disabled persons. There are only 300 reported cases around the world, and their newfound skills can be categorized into five: music, calendar calculating, mathematics, art, and spatial or mechanical skills. People diagnosed with this unique condition often find a way to transform their newfound skills into a form of passion. For every person diagnosed with Acquired Savant Syndrome, however, the manner of discovering their new skill comes in different ways. Nonetheless, these new skills often usher in a new and exciting season in patients’ lives.

“The methodology to my art is a spiritual and subconscious process,” David J. Marchi shared. “I dream the colors and painting structures first, imprinting the image in my head. In my studio, I sit on the floor, look at the negative space and start to pick the colors from the shelf. I line them together on the canvas giving him a tangible perspective of the dream.”

Years after he was diagnosed, he is now making art his lifelong passion. He is currently attending the Art Students League of New York, where he studies under Larry Poons, Peter Bonner, and Ronnie Landfield. He is also an artist member of the prestigious Silvermine Guild of Artists, whose mission is to promote and encourage growth through arts and to foster art appreciation and education opportunities for individuals and communities. He sits on the Board of Directors of The Hygienic Gallery. Additionally, he is a member of The Carriage Barn, MOMA, Guggenheim, and The Whitney.

To elevate his healing from the accident and visual art skills, he attended several artist residencies, including the Berlin Art Institute in Germany, Casa Na Ilha in Brazil, The Shacks in Massachusetts, and Chateau Orquevaux in France. He has managed to use his art to support worthy causes such as human rights campaigns. He was able to contribute to support Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, Positive Exposure, and Our Hearts Speaks.

Interestingly, he draws inspiration from some of the art world’s most notable names, from Hans Hofmann to Wassily Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock, Paul Cézanne, Piet Mondrian, and Frank Stella.

As he continues to fill the world with dreamy bold colors that carry so much meaning, there is no doubt that the exceptional artist will see many more astounding opportunities open for him in the future. And as he embraces these opportunities, people can continue to draw inspiration from his grit and deep love for art.

Your Employees are Clicking Phishing Links – Your Business May Not Survive

Since the invention of email, we’ve become very accustomed to receiving lots of junk mail every single day, but you may not be aware of just how bad it’s gotten. Today, 85% of all emails received are considered spam. Some of these emails are just irritating, but others are much more dangerous than that.

Currently, 14.5 billion spam emails are sent out every single day. Spam emails are just irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent to a large number of recipients. However, phishing emails are much worse. These fraudulent emails are sent with the intent to steal personal information, and there are at least 3 billion of these sent every day. There could be many more phishing emails that go undetected or unreported.

Phishing attacks include money scams, like “get rich quick” schemes or fake charity donations. They include address spoofing (using a legitimate email to send malicious content), malware warnings, spearphishing (highly researched attacks that target single organizations), extortion, and credential harvesting.

The real cost of phishing can go far beyond an attack on a single individual. Phishing is often the first step of a much more sophisticated attack. More than half of all phishing emails contain malware and there are currently 184 million ransomware attacks per year, but that number is growing rapidly.

Ransomware attacks are responsible for attacks on very big businesses, such as the attack on the Colonial Pipeline in early 2021. This ransomware attack locked down equipment and caused a halt in the supply chain and a huge fuel panic.

Phishing emails and ransomware can cost every business, large or small. These attacks obviously cost businesses money, but a successful ransomware attack can also cause a business to completely fail. These emails also cost businesses time as it takes an average of 83 hours for IT teams to uncover malicious emails. It costs customer retention as well as customers may need to be notified of a breach and 70% will stop shopping with a business post data breach. Finally, phishing emails cost businesses productivity. Apps like Teams and Office 365 can be used to infiltrate networks and the average employee spends 28% of their day filtering and screening emails.

Phishing emails can be easy to overlook. They’re crafted to seem legitimate. In fact, one in every 25 branded emails are actually phishing attacks and 19.8% of employees click phishing links. If an individual or business falls victim to a phishing attack, there’s very little that can be done. Only 3 in every 100,000 cybercrimes are ever prosecuted and 1 in 3 people have no idea how to secure their data.

There are 4 main steps to securing emails and data. The first thing businesses need to do is to establish an employee training program as 85% of scams involve human error and only 57% of offices offer regular cybersecurity training. The second thing is to verify all invoices and payments. Fifty-four percent of attacks involve credential harvesting. The third thing is to keep an eye on discrepancies. Fifty-one percent of attacks are too advanced for regular protection programs. The fourth thing to do is to invest in email security programs. Forty-three percent of all businesses do not have a cybersecurity plan and 25% of phishing emails bypass default security.

For businesses large and small, the defense must be stronger than the attack.

Inovantics Offers Medical Post – Acute Healthcare Practices the Groundbreaking Technological Solutions They Did Not Know They Needed

Medical providers and healthcare professionals know all too well the struggle of managing multiple systems and platforms, jumping from one to another simply to schedule care or access information on patients. It is an area long griped-about by those in the community and a place where patients end up getting stuck in the system. It can cause issues with providers getting paid, among other things. This is one place in the industry where a lot of time, effort, money, and frustration end up impacting the quality, timeliness, and availability of patient care. Karen Coffey, founder of Inovantics, has a solution, one that she created specifically to address this very issue.

A good deal of time is spent determining who is in-network, care coordination, access to appropriate medical histories, all take time and delay a patient getting care. Inconsistent and old methods of technology, lack of data, and no bridge or system that aims to benefit both patients and providers have slowed down the healthcare industry, gumming up the system, and getting in the way of providing patients the highest possible quality of care. Coffey spent over twenty years in the healthcare management field and has seen firsthand how hard it is to make things flow together, especially in post-acute care settings. Knowing that there had to be a better way, she set about to create a solution, one that has potential to change the way the healthcare industry works and make it better, more efficient, and more cost effective than it has ever been.

That groundbreaking, innovative solution comes in the form of a technology platform called Inovantics, which is a one stop shop, customizable to meet any post-acute care practices specific needs. One of the main components behind the structure of the platform is to maximize the healthcare referral process, leading to higher quality of patient care, and a far more efficient system for practitioners. The platform can be applied in any medical setting and any post-acute industry that works with referrals. It works with insurance and can be used in rehabilitation, assisted living, behavioral health, rehabilitation, residential care, again, it is a versatile, customizable system. It encompasses care services, payor eligibility, and administrative processes integrated into a single platform, giving providers access to information in real-time.

Inovantics works to streamline operations, enhance customer relationships and continuity of care. The software will identify new opportunities and ways for practices to grow, including real-time data and analytics. The system is fully HIPAA compliant, reduces turnaround time, increases conversions or conversion rates, identifies patterns and trends, and identifies potential partners.

As Coffey puts it, “Whatever a practice or provider needs, we put it all together like it’s a present, and wrap it with a bow. It is so easy, so user-friendly, anyone can use it. There is absolutely no limit to what this system can do, we will find the solution and customize it to meet every client’s needs. We can integrate it into large, small practices, even hospitals, any practice can benefit from this system.”

Coffey has just one goal: to make the healthcare system better. And Inovantics is her way to do that. Based out of Boston, the company can work with clients anywhere, and hopes to show people exactly how much better the healthcare system can be, with the right tools. Coffey does not just sell a product, she stands behind it 100% and worked every step of the way to develop a solution that can truly make a difference for both providers and patients, and is there with providers every step through the process as they determine what they need, and then start to use the Inovantics platform. Visit the company website and connect with Coffey on social media to learn more.

Types of Software Your Small Business Needs

If you’re starting a small business in the near future, it’s time to think about software. Whether you have additional employees or are planning to handle everything yourself, software can make your life so much easier.

It’s difficult to take care of lots of things at once, but many business owners look after their finances, marketing, sales and shipping without any help. Luckily, software can take some of this load off your shoulders, allowing you to take care of what’s important without stretching yourself too thin. Here are some of the top types of software you should think about investing in.

Accounting

Finances are probably one of the most important elements of any small business. After all, if your finances aren’t in order how can you hope to keep trading? Sage.com accounting software can help you to make sure your money is all in order. From keeping track of invoices to organising payroll and offering cashflow visibility, this programme really does it all. You won’t even have to worry about making tax-related calculations, as this is all built into the system. It’s perfect for small business owners who don’t want to hire an accountant but understand that spreadsheets can create more problems than they solve.

SEO

Nearly all businesses have an online presence these days, which is why considering SEO is crucial. If your website isn’t being discovered on search engines, then you can bet you’re losing sales to competitors every day. While you might be aware of SEO, chances are your strategy could be better with the help of software. Not only will you get insights into keywords, but you’ll also be able to check what keywords your competitors are targeting. Keyword research can be time-consuming, so why not let software automate some of that process? Alternatively, you could hire an SEO professional or agency to help you get off the ground more quickly.

Communication

Whether you have employees or not, having communication software is essential for all businesses. Even if you don’t have co-workers to send messages to, you’ll need a reliable system for talking to clients and sometimes email just won’t cut it. You can choose an integrated approach to communication software, having email, instant messaging and video calls all in one place, or you could use different platforms for all three. Consider looking for communication software that makes orders visible to clients as well. This way you’ll be able to talk about the progress of projects more easily and avoid confusion.

Web Design

You don’t have to be a web design expert to have a website that looks great and works well. Depending on your skill level, you can choose web design software that gives you more control or one that comes with ready-made templates. Whichever one you choose, web design software is crucial for giving your small business a professional online presence. While social media really does help with your marketing efforts, having your own website makes you seem more authentic.

Ransomware Can Knock You Off Your Feet – Cyber Insurance is Ready to Catch You

Ransomware attacks are on the rise in a big way, and many small to midsize businesses are seriously unprepared to defend themselves. In 2020 alone, ransomware attacks rose by 50%, which is equal to an attack on businesses, devices, or persons every 10 seconds. The cost of these attacks is already daunting and it’s growing every day.

We can all remember the ransomware attack on Colonial Pipeline that cut off gasoline supplies and hiked up prices all over the country. The increase in gasoline prices could potentially be factored into the cost to every person in the US, not to mention any business that factors gas prices into any of their operations, but the ransom itself was enough of a huge hit at 4.4 million dollars. That ransom alone made it the largest attack on any US energy system.

Other major attacks were the ones on JBS and Acer. The JBS ransomware attack was the largest reported ransom payment at 11 million dollars, and the Acer ransomware attack was the largest ransom demand at 50 million dollars.

It may or may not come as a surprise that cyber crime is actually the third largest economy, ranking just below the US and China. From 2019 to 2025, the cost of damages due to cyber crime is expected to rise by 24 billion dollars. Ransomware is, of course, the most common method of attack and the cost of these attacks is rising astronomically as well. In 2015, damages due to ransomware cost a “mere” 24 million dollars, but as of 2020, it’s up to 170 billion dollars.

Twenty-twenty opened the door and invited cyber criminals to come get whatever they wanted when 70% of Americans began working from home. Remote work left IT departments in the dark regarding potential threats, and many employees are using their own devices that don’t have the extra security measures that company devices have in place.

Right now, 45% of all small to midsize businesses (SMB’s) say their security measures aren’t enough to protect them against ransomware attacks, and 66% of them have fallen prey to such attacks in the last year. Unfortunately, 60% of these businesses will fail within 6 months of a data breach. The cost is just too much to bear alone.

This is where cyber insurance comes in. Cyber insurance isn’t a fix-all solution. It doesn’t cover every aspect of a ransomware attack. Things like physical property, future loss of profits, and intellectual property are all left to the business to recover alone. However, cyber insurance does cover profit losses including reputation damage, liabilities including contract penalties and media fines, and lawsuits including class-action and regulatory investigations. Cyber insurance also pays 1 million dollars in damages.

Businesses need to weigh the cost and benefits of cyber insurance for themselves, but with SMB’s expected to put 5-20% of their budget into preventing cyber attacks by 2028, it’s nice to know that they have a cushion to fall on should their money and security efforts fail.
