The power of positivity isn’t just a catchphrase in today’s dizzying world. It’s more than a simple smile or a happy thought—it’s an outlook that shapes our experiences, relationships, and overall well-being. Dr. Tanya Stephenson, a Mental Health and Peak Performance Coach, Psychotherapist, and Clinical Hypnotherapist, understands how profoundly positivity and gratitude can affect our lives.

Dr. Stephenson knows adversity intimately, having faced a myriad of challenges from a young age. From toxic relationships, heartbreak, and navigating new schools and countries, which led to her struggling academically throughout school, to harassment and the devastating loss of a loved one when she was just 15 years old, Dr. Stephenson’s life was shaped by major trials that almost crippled her. But amidst this storm, she found her anchor: energy work and a fierce determination to transform her destiny.

“Overcoming being broke was not easy,” she recalls, “but I decided that things were going to change.” Although things didn’t change overnight, this declaration marked a new phase in Dr. Stephenson’s life. With the huge strength of a supportive husband, they became a team, and through incredible focus, clarity, commitment, hard work, and a lot of internal work on herself, Dr. Stephenson went from sweeping floors as part of her job to completing her Ph.D. in Psychology (in just two years while working full-time), owning a multi-million dollar business, traveling around the world, and building a multi-million dollar house—all in the span of four years. “I think gratitude, kindness, and positivity played, and continue to play, a huge role in this,” she states.

This isn’t just an optimistic notion but a fact backed by psychological and scientific evidence. Studies have shown that a positive mindset can reduce stress, enhance our immune system, and even extend our lifespan. That said, it’s important to note that positivity isn’t about denying challenges; it’s about approaching them with a mindset that focuses on solutions and growth.

Negativity, on the other hand, is a stifling force. People who are constantly shrouded in negativity not only impact their own mental and physical health but also spread this toxic energy to those around them. It’s like a chain reaction—negativity breeds more negativity. Over time, this pessimistic outlook can isolate individuals, strain relationships, and hinder personal and professional growth.

As a therapist and coach, Dr. Stephenson emphasizes that being relentlessly negative can lead to a self-fulfilling prophecy. “Your beliefs shape your reality,” she underscores. If someone believes that everything will go wrong or that they’ll never succeed, they’re inadvertently attracting those negative experiences into their lives. This mindset can become a formidable barrier to achieving their aspirations and finding contentment.

Dr. Stephenson is extremely passionate about the concept of self-love, what it means, and why it’s incredibly important. The good thing is that self-love can neutralize any lingering negativity and help anyone change the trajectory of their life. “Self-love is the cornerstone of a fulfilling life,” Dr. Stephenson reiterates. “To truly embrace life, we must first know who we are and step into that person. This allows us to develop a solution-focused mindset, become resilient, and bounce back quickly from setbacks.” Dr. Stephenson’s unwavering belief in positivity and self-love’s transformative potential fuels her dedication to helping people uncover and transform limiting beliefs, as it’s incredibly important for us to become aware of our belief systems.

Furthermore, Dr. Stephenson believes in and emphasizes the immense power of positivity and practicing gratitude. Through these practices, you can explore the power of energy, that what we attract and create in our lives comes through energy and the power of the subconscious.

“I want to reach, inspire, and change the lives of as many people as I can,” she asserts. Dr. Stephenson’s aspirations include international speaking engagements, published books, and impactful online courses so she can reach, inspire, support, and change the lives of as many people, either suffering in silence or who want more from life. One of her online courses is going live soon, and she hopes it will impact as many lives as possible, with hopes to launch more courses soon. Dr. Stephenson envisions a bright future where her influence in the healing, growth, and personal development space is widespread and she becomes a household name.

Dr. Tanya Stephenson stands as a lighthouse, illuminating the path toward a brighter, more fulfilled existence in a world often clouded by uncertainty. She combines her extensive training in psychology, counseling, energy work, yoga, and hypnotherapy to address the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—while taking the time to deeply understand her clients’ individual needs, challenges, and goals and tailors her coaching techniques and strategies to their specific circumstances. As her life and work attest, anyone can weather life’s storms and emerge stronger and more victorious if they adopt the right mindset, resilience, and a sprinkle of positivity.
