Attending the High School of Performing Arts was pivotal for me—it was an immersive environment where talent and ambition were constantly on display.

A: Each institution provided me with a different lens through which to view the entertainment industry. NYU Film School ignited my creative side, while the University of Michigan and Columbia Law School honed my analytical and strategic thinking skills. These varied perspectives allow me to navigate the complexities of the entertainment business with a unique blend of creativity and legal acumen.
Q: Could you share some insights about your time at Helix Software and how that experience contributed to your current success in the entertainment industry?
A: My time at Helix Software was instrumental in understanding the business side of things—especially the importance of innovation and strategic partnerships. Selling the company to McAfee was a highlight that taught me a lot about negotiations and the value of a company beyond its immediate products. These lessons have been directly applicable to managing talent and producing content in entertainment.

A: I think the key is to always stay true to the vision while being adaptable. In managing talent, it’s about recognizing and cultivating their unique gifts and ensuring they have the right opportunities to showcase their abilities. With projects, it’s a balance between the creative vision and the practical aspects of production and distribution. It’s all about relationships and trust.

A: LaGuardia High School gave me a lot, and it’s a place that fosters creativity in the youth who will shape our cultural landscape in the future. “50 Years of FAME” was about celebrating that legacy and ensuring the next generation has the same opportunities that I had. Giving back is a way to ensure that the arts continue to thrive and remain accessible to all.

A: I believe that to be successful, you must find balance. Traveling and exploring different cultures through their food and wine is how I recharge. This definitely feeds into my work by broadening my perspective and influencing the stories I want to help bring to life.
