In a world where literacy plays a key role in success, Timmie Murphy offers a source of inspiration and potential for change. As the founder and owner of RW&C, LLC, Timmie has dedicated over a decade to helping students overcome learning challenges such as dyslexia, ADHD, and cognitive disorders. With more than thousands of hours of private session experience, Timmie is a skilled educator and an innovator in reading remediation.
Building a Legacy of Learning
Timmie’s journey began with a degree in Elementary and Special Education from St. Mary’s Dominican College in New Orleans. After years as a public school teacher, she saw firsthand the struggles students with learning disabilities faced. This inspired her to create RW&C, LLC in 2011—a company dedicated to bridging literacy gaps and empowering students to reach their full potential.
RW&C is based on a focus on innovation and tracking progress. The company’s proprietary Scope and Sequence curriculum uses standardized testing to track student progress, ensuring objectives and results. What sets RW&C apart is its commitment to measurable results—the company utilizes industry-accepted standardized testing to objectively track and validate student progress.
Pioneering Online Learning Before Its Time
Murphy’s foresight in educational technology proved remarkable. In 2014, when a family relocated out of state, she embraced the challenge of online tutoring – years before remote learning became mainstream. This early adoption of virtual education allowed RW&C to perfect its online delivery system, transitioning from in-person to online services by 2017, well ahead of the global pivot to remote learning.
A Vision for Nationwide Impact
Today, RW&C delivers its services online, reaching students nationwide and internationally. Under Timmie’s leadership, the company has expanded its model to include State Directors, enabling broader access to RW&C’s proven methodologies. “Our mission is simple: to ensure every child has the opportunity to achieve literacy, no matter where they live,” Timmie shares.
The company’s comprehensive approach includes:
- A 32-lesson curriculum taught by trained clinicians.
- Continuous communication with parents and school reading teachers
- A sophisticated parent portal ensuring seamless stakeholder communication
- Diverse learning tools, including worksheets, tile boards, and interactive games
Measurable Success and Lasting Impact
RW&C’s success is reflected in its impressive statistics: A high client retention rate and steady improvement in student performance. Through personalized instruction, innovative teaching tools, and a steadfast commitment to student success, RW&C has positively impacted many students and families. One grandmother shared how Timmie’s program helped her dyslexic granddaughter learn to read and also boosted her confidence and kindness.
Looking to the Future
Dyslexia affects a significant portion of the population, and recent data from the National Assessment of Educational Progress shows that many fourth graders are not reading at grade level. Murphy’s work is more crucial than ever. Under her leadership, RW&C continues to evolve, maintaining its core mission: “Reading… The Gift of a Lifetime!™”
Through RW&C, Timmie Murphy isn’t just teaching reading –She is helping students build confidence, improve self-esteem, and access new opportunities. As awareness of dyslexia and learning challenges increases, RW&C is prepared to support the growing need for targeted reading remediation services.
