Marc Maggisano: Absolutely. I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, in a family deeply rooted in education and law. My mother worked for the Ontario Ministry of Education, and my father is a lawyer. This environment fostered my academic pursuits, leading me to be a straight-A student throughout my school years and a recipient of the St. Thomas More Society Award.

Marc Maggisano: I was quite active in sports, playing baseball, soccer, and hockey. I also engaged in student government and was a prefect in my senior year. My involvement extended to winning the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, reflecting my commitment to community service and leadership.
Moving forward, how did your career path unfold after university?
Marc Maggisano: Post-graduation from the University of Western Ontario, I initially delved into the coffee business. But my focus soon shifted to writing and researching for my book, “Il Filo D’Oro,” which explores the influence of Italian culture throughout history. Marc Maggisano: I’ve always been inspired by the ideals of the Italian Renaissance, which advocates a well-rounded approach to life. This philosophy has influenced my approach to problem-solving and creativity in my professional life. I like to think of myself as part indie-anthropologist, constantly learning from various cultures and experiences.
What about your personal life and interests?
Marc Maggisano: I’m passionate about travel, especially to Italy, and I maintain a strong fitness regimen. My interests also include reading, particularly about Catholic saints and ancient Roman history.
Recently, you’ve faced some personal challenges. How have you navigated through these?
Marc Maggisano: Earlier this year, I struggled but was able to rekindle my connection with God and am actively involved with the Catholic Church. This journey has reshaped my definition of success, focusing more on being useful to others and serving a higher purpose.
