Dressed in her inaugural sash, an eight-year-old Monica English stood on the dais, clutching her first title – Little Miss Hughes Elizabeth Lakes. From that moment, an enduring passion for pageants was ignited, leading her on an intercontinental journey through the tapestry of beauty and poise. Monica’s early victories, including noteworthy attainment of Miss Quartz Hill in high school, were not just personal accolades but opportunities to foster meaningful relationships and acquire invaluable skills that would inadvertently set the foundation for her future career.

While in the hallowed halls of UC Irvine, Monica’s entrepreneurial spirit began to shape. At 18, she dipped her toe in the thriving waters of real estate investment. She gradually elevated with relatively modest properties, amassing a considerable portfolio. This portfolio later found its new abode in Michigan, where she is liquidating these investments.
Simultaneously, Monica embarked on a coaching business, guiding models and pageant hopefuls, thus molding dreams and helping others to find success. Furthermore, this venture provided her with strong leadership and mentoring skills. She then delved into additional business opportunities, notably Airbnb, and subsequently secured her real estate license. Always on the outlook for the unexplored, she continues to seek fresh projects and opportunities to heighten her achievements in the real estate industry.
Though her trajectory seems magical, Monica’s road was not easily paved. She had to grapple with several adversities, including a stint in foster care, experiencing extreme poverty, and encountering homelessness. However, these experiences did not cower Monica; her resilience and sturdy resolve to triumph over her predicaments fuelled her journey.
The beacon of her motivation remains her family, her supportive partner, and her untiring pursuit of her vision. Monica aspires to repay the support system that sustained her through thick and thin while exerting a positive influence on the lives of others. In her own words, “Experiencing foster care was a big challenge I overcame with having an unconventional background and being raised by just my mother. We had financial strains and didn’t have a lot of support or resources. What keeps me motivated and going every day is my family, my partner, and working towards building my vision for all my goals. Giving back to the community is also a big part of it.”
