Marketing Using Social Media | Important Considerations

Innovation is crucial in marketing, and marketers are always seeking new ways to promote their brands and improve sales. Over the recent past, marketing through social media has taken center stage, offering a unique and affordable platform where businesses can interact with customers. However, most marketers are yet to fully understand what social media offers and leverage the immense potential presented. In this article, we explore important dynamics to know about social media as a marketing tool.

Defining the Concept of Marketing Through Social

Marketing through social media implies a strategy aimed at interacting with present customers and reaching prospective clients through social media platforms. It could mean promoting a blog post, marketing a product on Facebook, or getting customer feedback on Twitter. Understand the strategies used to market on social media. The only new thing is the platform for delivery.

Who Should Market Through Social Media?

These are things you should take into consideration regardless of the size of your marketing campaign. Even if you’re resorting to websites such as likes24.de  to boost your campaign, it’s preferred to follow these guidelines. Marketing through social media suits all types of organizations, from small startups to multinationals. Whether you intend to use free posting or paid ads, many programs can give your company access to monumental audiences to help build your brand and reach clients.

In a technical sense, however, you should note that no marketing strategy can be complete. This is because someone has to create time to create posts and place them on the social media stages. You could engage a freelancer from an essay writing service to help with content creation. However, even these low-cost marketing strategies can have amazing effects when done right.

It is important to reiterate that marketing through social media is not suited for everyone. It should not be approached as an easy and low-effort strategy for making money. The best strategies require considerable planning and should be linked to the overall business tactic of your firm. Also, the ideal strategy will be contingent on the nature of your business. Just remember that there is immense potential for marketing through social media to enhance your brand as long as you get the process right.

How Do Companies Benefit From Marketing Through Social Media?

As has been noted, different companies benefit from different strategies. When used right, your business will benefit from the fact that social media offer speedy customer service to clients from any part of the world. Also, the platforms offer additional avenues for selling and marketing services and products. Small businesses can also use the platform to improve brand recognition and customer loyalty by engaging with clients.

Companies can also benefit from social media by using the platforms to promote their own content. You don’t need to incur huge advertisement costs to popularize your firm on social media. You can also use the platforms to demonstrate your company culture, facilitating recruitment in the process.

Getting Started | What to Consider

The first step towards effective marketing through social media is listing the goals of the undertaking. Ascertain that your policy aligns with the goals and objectives of your business. For instance, charities should adopt different approaches than companies looking to profit from their social media presence. When looking to boost sales, begin by posting your products regularly to trigger sales.

You should also start running directed paid ads to grow your following and brand visibility. Make sure to engage your followers on social pages using unique content. This means not just relying on marketing and advertisement posts. Combine promotional content with informative and captivating material to keep your followers engaged.

Keeping Track of Progress: Useful Tips

Like is the case with any approach for advertising, marketing through social media requires assessment. Take note of your present position, including those channels in which you are active. Take note of the social media pages that seem to be performing comparatively better than others. Also, review those kinds of posts that have tended to resonate well with your followers. Most importantly, consider whether you are reaching the intended audience.

When it comes to marketing through social media, it also helps to understand what not to post. Over the years, many companies have lost business or gotten in trouble for posting inappropriate content. Of course, there is no strict guide on what should or should not be posted on social media. It all depends on your business and the kind of customers you are seeking out. As a key component of social media policy, create a list of topics that ought to be avoided.

Trusy Social’s Very Own COO Jacob Britton Discusses Starting Your Business

Jacob Britton is a digital marketer from Birmingham, Alabama, with a high level of expertise in the areas of social media, consumer behavior, and results-oriented organic/paid campaign strategies.

Jacob attended Full Sail University and studied digital marketing. He was able to receive his bachelor’s degree in just two years and was a salutatorian of his class.

Since graduating, Jacob Britton has curated and managed high-growth campaigns for agencies, startups, and nationally recognized brands that have consistently increased engagement, conversions, and overall brand awareness across multiple platforms.

He is now applying these skills to Trusy Social as the companies COO. As one of Trusy Socials co-founders, Jacob Britton has been able to assist in developing the necessary processes, strategies, and offers. This has been done to ensure that Trusy sees continuous growth and sustained success.

  1. Where did the idea for Trusy Social come from?

We founded Trusy a little over two years ago – At this point in time, I had just finished working at a digital marketing agency and was ready to start my own endeavor.

When working at the digital agency I mainly focused on growing our client’s social media presence across all platforms. After doing this for a few years I noticed a gaping hole in the social media marketing space.

All strategies that were being utilized at that time by SMMA’s was either outdated, ineffective or extremely overpriced. There wasn’t any place to go if you were just an average IG user looking to reach more users. (Unless you wanted to spend ample amounts of time working to learn how to run paid ads)

Thus, my team and I decided to put our heads together and work to find a process that was effective, affordable, and reliable.

After a few months of trying every growth strategy under the sun we were able to create a process that provides high-quality leads and consistent/exponential growth at a price that nearly anyone can afford!

Thankfully our efforts were not in vein and I can proudly say that after 2 years of being in business we have now serviced over 10,000+ accounts and are not going to slow down anytime soon!

  1. What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

I start my day around 6:00AM and spend the first 45 minutes or so of the day prepping for the day ahead. (Reviewing schedule, meditating, setting goals for the day, etc…)

Generally, I will work in the office each day from 7:00AM to 3:30PM. During these hours, I am working on various projects which generally entails me catching up on emails, collaborating with our teams to ensure all processes are working properly, analyzing our current strategies to see where we can improve, and then I always take at least an hour each day to think about how we can continue to grow Trusy and what new offers we should work to create down the road.

After I leave the office around 3:30PM I will head home and go for an afternoon jog to clear my head from the day I’ve had at the office. Then around 5:00PM I will hop back on the computer and work for another hour or two with our teams who are located on the other side of the world who are just starting their work day.

Once that work is finished I will completely disconnect from work for the day and spend time with my loved ones. Then by 9:00PM or so I am in bed and getting rest so that I can do the same thing again the next day!

  1. How do you bring ideas to life?

I bring ideas to life by starting and not quitting. (I know. Pretty earth shattering advice, eh?)

But seriously, in my time as an entrepreneur, I have had the pleasure of meeting many talented individuals – Many of these individuals have some incredible ideas for businesses.

However, I have found that the vast majority of these individuals are too scared to take the first step. Whether that be due to them overanalyzing the situation or just being too lazy to do the work, I’m not sure.

But, I do know that through my experiences the hardest step to take is the first. I’m a firm believer that if you don’t start today you will eventually talk yourself out of ever starting.

I once heard that Entrepreneurship is like driving the frame of a car down the interstate at 100 miles an hour. Imagine that you’re moving around this frame while you’re zooming down the road and are working to put your car together – All the while you’re just praying that you have the correct parts and that you don’t mess up resulting in your vehicle bursting into a ball of flames.

I love this thought because this perfectly describes how I felt with Trusy. I didn’t feel like we were ready to launch when we did – However, I knew that the best way to learn was through trial and error. I believe that this is why Trusy has had such success.

By throwing ourselves straight into the deep end my entire team and I can now roll with any punch that is thrown our way, climb any barrier that is put in front of us or destroy any wall that is blocking our path.

So, stop sitting on your idea. Start today and don’t quit – I promise you that you will grow more and find more success than you could have ever imagined.

  1. What’s one trend that excites you?

One trend that excites me is the current transition of businesses to online platforms. Even if the circumstances of COVID-19 had let them to finally transition online, utilizing online platforms to engage consumers is one of the top ways to push business growth.

  1. What is one habit of yours that makes you more productive as an entrepreneur?

I think that taking the time each morning to write out 5-8 goals that I want to get done that day has allowed me to excel as an entrepreneur.

As a kid my parents would always give me daily to-do lists and I always got so much gratification in working through the lists and checking off each task one by one as the day went on.

As an adult, I took this same process and applied it to my work. So, each and every day I write down a few different things that I have to get done before going to bed that night.

In doing this, I am able to hold myself accountable and I take pride in the fact that whatever tasks I take the time to write down are going to get done that day.

And when you really think about it, most people don’t even complete 1-4 tasks a day… So, if you can start doing 5+ tasks a day you will be leaps and bounds ahead of the competition in no time.

  1. What advice would you give your younger self?

Stop. Stressing. So. Much. I always have put a lot of pressure on myself to succeed and it took me way too long to realize that this pressure is not necessary.

Now, that’s not to say that pressure is a bad thing – It can be a good thing but you need to have a healthy balance and for a long time I did not. I spent years stressing over the smallest issues – To the point that my hair started to turn gray. (Seriously, I’m 24 and have almost as many gray hairs as your grandpa)

For a long time, I wore pressure/stress on my sleeve as a medal of honor. It made me feel like I was doing something right and when I had moments where I wasn’t stressed I found myself feeling lazy or like I wasn’t doing enough.

It took quite some time but thankfully over time I was able to obtain some success and in turn, I had the realization that in order to sustain this success I had to relax. You cannot be a successful leader and stress all day every day – You don’t see Elon Musk having a meltdown on Twitter when one of his rocket launches doesn’t go as planned, do you? No, you do not.

So, If I could speak to my younger self I would say: “Take a step back, do some reflecting on where you currently are, be thankful, and find peace in the fact that you’re making progress each and every day. As long as you are progressing each day you will not fail.”

  1. Tell us something that’s true that almost nobody agrees with you on?

There is nothing more important than customer service.

Your offer/product/service/ isn’t more important, your branding isn’t more important and neither is your businesses processes/systems. So, don’t get it confused – Customer Service must always be your #1 priority.

It doesn’t matter if you’re selling Red Bottoms or Sketchers. If you are not doing everything possible to provide clients with the necessary info, support, and resources to ensure they feel comfortable with your product you’ve lost.

So, set customer service as your #1 priority, and everything will fall into place. You can rest assured that through constant communication with your clients you will learn everything that needs to be done to your business to make it that much better.

  1. As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?

Force yourself out of your comfort zone as much as possible.

It is easy to become complacent if you’re an entrepreneur and have had some success. We’ve all seen one-hit wonder entrepreneurs and you may have asked yourself: “What happened to the guy who started x?”

Well, I’ll tell you what happened… He started a project, made a bit of money, and then retired in Florida.

Don’t allow this to become you – In order to grow you must push yourself out of your comfort zone constantly and in doing this you will continue to sharpen your skills and become the best entrepreneur that you can be!

  1. What is one strategy that has helped you grow your business? Please explain how.

Creating the necessary processes to build a collaborative environment for our clients and our team to work in.

I found through my previous work that most SMMA’s will communicate with you a ton on the front end but as soon as they start “working” on your account… Poof! They disappear.

In order to further separate ourselves from the competition, we have successfully developed an environment where our team is constantly in touch with our clients to ensure they have all the necessary info, resources, and skills to grow their account.

Through collaboration we are able to not only just talk the talk but walk the walk and show our clients that we are not like our competition – We don’t want to just make a quick buck off of them. We want to build real relationships with our clients and provide them everything needed to reach their goals.

This simple strategy has allowed us to build a large client base – But even more importantly it has allowed us to build real relationships with nearly each and every one of our clients.

  1. What is one failure you had as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

I think the biggest failure I’ve had as an entrepreneur is not following through on multiple businesses that I started. When I was younger I felt like I should work on any and every idea that I had.

As you could imagine, this resulted in wasting a lot of time, money, and energy. Just off the top of my head, I can think of 4 different businesses that I invested thousands of dollars into and countless hours of time – Only to get bored of what I was working on and move on to another idea a few weeks later.

Thankfully, as I grew up I was able to surround myself with some incredible mentors. These mentors encouraged me to be more intentional with my next product. They said to fully flesh out my next idea over the course of a few weeks prior to starting to work on anything.

In doing this I was able to realize that a lot of my ideas were… Well for lack of a better term, terrible.

However, through working through this process of fully fleshing out my ideas time and time again I was able to create a process of analyzing potential business ideas that I had. This process I developed ultimately led me to creating Trusy and getting to the point that I am at today!

  1. What is one business idea that you’re willing to give away to our readers? (this should be an actual idea for a business, not business advice)

One business idea that I have always thought that someone should implement would be a digital coffee maker. This coffee maker would also have an app that you can connect to your phone and would be able to work from around your house. It would allow for full effectiveness and save you from any potential morning rush.

  1. What is the best $100 you recently spent? What and why? (personal or professional)

The best $100 I spent recently was actually on a course that I purchased via an ad on Facebook. For some time, I’ve been looking to find a way to further grow my passive income.

I was then served an ad for a course called “Options Trading Workshop on Demand” that was created by Todd Billion. This course teaches you everything that you need to in order to start trading Options on the Stock Market.

This course taught me so much and lit a fire in me to get better at trading. So, I can say with full confidence that this course was the best $100 I’ve spent in a long time.

  1. What is one piece of software or a web service that helps you be productive? How do you use it?

This is going to sound so simple but the “Reminders” app on my iPhone is the piece of software that I use the most BY FAR.

My entire life is scheduled through me saying “Hey Siri… Remind tomorrow at 2PM to do x.

If you are like me and struggle to keep track with what you have to do each and every day I highly recommend starting to plan your day via the Reminders app on your phone.

You’re on your phone all day every day already so if you do this there is no way you will ever miss another call, deadline, or meeting.

(Unless you just see the reminder and decide you don’t want to complete the task at hand lol)

  1. What is the one book that you recommend our community should read and why?

The book I would recommend is “Stillness is the Key” by Ryan Holiday.

Without a doubt this book completely changed my life and if you’re someone like me who prides themselves on hard work and in turn find it very hard to turn it off at the end of the day then you need to read this.

It taught me how to better organize my days so that I can still get everything done that needs to be done (and more) but still have the necessary amount of time off to rest and recover.

  1. What is your favorite quote?

“Don’t wait for the right opportunity: create it.”
― George Bernard Shaw
