Each living individual has only twenty-four hours each day to make the best out of every breath. And after the last second drops, the day is gone and lost forever. As ephemeral as life can get, people should spend each day with the intention to inhabit every waking hour of it thoroughly. It is when people set out to the world whole-heartedly that they get to see what life is really about.
With spunk, humor, and an ever-dynamic flair, Susie Rust likes to live her life to the fullest. And using her passion for thrill and adventure, she emulates the true definition of grit as she celebrates spirited moments of pure excitement.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Susie Rust is highly recognized for her bright and sunny disposition. Having decided to move to New York City, she kicked off her career in advertising and has since been in the industry for twenty-five long years. And with her expertise, she proves to be an instrumental force in getting Silicon Valley up and running.
As a go-getter, Susie has earned herself the reputation of being unstoppable at everything she does. Sporting a carpe diem mindset, she tries to ingrain her life with as many breathtaking activities as possible. As such, she has participated and completed the New York Marathon and Triathlon and has even tried out kitesurfing and windsurfing.
But as much as Susie likes to spoil her fun-loving side, she also tries to relish the peace and quiet. So with her ancestral home in Nova Scotia and Barbados, she occasionally basks under the freshness of the outdoors. And with her love for nature, she often takes herself on a stroll along Central Park. As a result, she has grown to know all of the secret spots therein.
For Susie, celebrating the beauty of life means sharing the joy therein with others. So when she is not out and about, she spends her time working with the homeless on the Upper West Side of New York at All Angels’ Church-Pathways program. She may have caught the entire world’s attention with her get up and go personality; however, it is with her compassion and empathy that she has won the people’s hearts.
If there is one thing that could be taken away from how Susie is living her life, it would be this: live in the moment. Instead of wasting a second worrying about what could go wrong in the future, one should just focus every bit of themselves on being the best person they can be in the present moment.
In the same way, one should also learn to let go of what has already gone by. The past is done, and the distant future is irrelevant. Thus, Susie reminds everyone to brace the day for what it is because the only thing that should matter is right now.
