Every family carries unique stories, traditions, and memories, but not all are positive. Unresolved childhood wounds often pass silently from one generation to the next, forming the beliefs of younger generations in ways we barely recognize. Kathi Sohn, a coach, author, and CEO of Body Memory Process, LLC, is on a mission to help individuals break this cycle. Through her work with the Body Memory Process, she helps individuals explore personal growth, reframe past experiences, and take actionable steps toward their goals.

Kathi’s journey into trauma work began over two decades ago. While working with the Department of Defense, she was introduced to the Body Memory Process by her late husband, David Sohn, its creator. For nearly 25 years, she immersed herself in this practice, learning how buried emotions and childhood vows shape adult experiences. After retiring in 2020, she dedicated herself fully to sharing these insights with all who needed them.

The Body Memory Process is not just a method or a company—it aims to help individuals understand and address personal patterns. It dives into how our bodies store memories, especially those formed during early childhood. Kathi explains that we’ve already formed deep beliefs about ourselves and the world by age seven. Many of these are based on misunderstandings or emotional responses that no longer serve us as adults. These “childhood vows” stay locked in our cellular memory, affecting our relationships, health, and financial well-being.

For Kathi, the work is personal as much as it is professional. Her passion is helping people identify and release the vows that keep them stuck. Kathi’s approach encourages individuals to stop fighting their bodies and start listening instead.

Kathi’s book, “You Made It Up, Now Stop Believing It,” breaks down these concepts into actionable steps. It guides readers through uncovering childhood vows, understanding their impact, and creating healthier beliefs. Using real-life examples and practical exercises, Kathi offers accessible and instant tools for self-discovery. Her Body Memory Process Core Belief Body Map reveals over nine hundred core beliefs keeping individuals from achieving fulfillment.

Programs and Resources

Kathi’s work extends beyond individuals to parents and families. She believes that we can build a confident, resilient, and self-aware generation by supporting children emotionally. Her coaching programs include Hero’s Journey Parent Coaching. This coaching program equips parents with tools to understand better and address inherited patterns in family dynamics.  Kathi offers resources, workshops, and opportunities to connect with her directly. Through her book, programs, and speaking engagements, she continues to inspire people to heal not just for themselves but also for the generations that follow.

These days, everyone is grappling with stress, conflict, and uncertainty, but many fail to realize that childhood trauma is causing many of these issues. Kathi is here to help with that. Her message is clear: true change begins within. By breaking the trauma cycle, we can transform not only our own lives but the lives of those who come after us. Kathi Sohn is proving that the power to heal is already inside us—all we need to do is listen.
