The fitness industry has seen tremendous growth over the past couple of years. More and more people are looking into health trends and improving their lifestyles through various means like health and wellness programs and frequent exercise.
People are now keen on trying out new health and wellness products, getting gym memberships, even going as far as participating in various questionable health fads. Being healthy has now become a way to feel good about one’s self, be it through an aesthetic improvement or just an overall good and healthy feeling.
But what’s actually in it for us besides feeling and looking healthy? Sophia Gigante knows what fitness has to offer right down to the minute details. Sophia is changing the game by showing us that fitness isn’t just about looking good and feeling healthy it’s also about taking control of your body.
Sophia Gigante is a personal trainer and certified nutritionist who founded SRG Fitness at 22 years old. Despite being born with incurable diseases, Hydrocephalus and Hypotonia, Sophia managed to push herself to her physical limits and go to the gym and move at a consistent pace. Considering that Hypotonia causes low muscle tone among individuals, Sophia proves that the only reason people don’t hit the gym is because they keep making their own excuses. She underwent hardships that allowed her to understand that not all bodies are made the same, especially considering that she had a shunt inside her head to treat her diseases.
Due to her personal experiences, she managed to establish SRG Fitness, a personal training and nutrition counselling wellness studio located on Central Avenue in Yonkers, NY. Sophia welcomes everyone with open arms. Inclusivity is an essential part of the SRG Fitness culture. Sophia has built programs and training methods that encompass all aspects of health, catered to different individuals, and their own personal health and wellness needs.
With customized workout plans and nutrition clients, the gym experience over at SRG Fitness is personal and intimate — no client is the same. Each member is treated with the utmost personal care, and programs are personally tailored to their respective needs. Sophia understands her clients’ needs, having experienced challenges herself she makes sure that her clients feel in control of their own bodies and in turn her clients show an astounding amount of respect and comfort when they interact with each other. Sophia has assisted clients with various conditions, including Autism, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Epilepsy. She even took care of clients with anxiety that manifests through their physical health like poor diets and obesity. Sophia’s compassion reflects in her work; her clients feel satisfied and motivated, knowing that they’re in the hands of someone who genuinely cares about their well-being.
SRG Fitness is more than just fitness training. It’s a training that’s all-inclusive and all-encompassing, making sure that everyone has a place and everyone deserves health and wellness no matter what. SRG Fitness is for society’s “underdogs,” and Sophia Gigante herself has made it her personal mission to prove to the world that anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it.
