I don’t like to limit myself to one thing because I feel like I grow as a person by trying new things and pushing my own boundaries. Plus, the skills from one sport often help in others. For example, the agility I’ve gained from dance helps with my footwork in soccer. It all ties together, and that keeps me motivated.

You’ve been involved in raising money for animal rescue organizations like Furry Kids Refuge and Wayside Waifs. What sparked your connection to animal welfare, and why is it important to you?

It all started with our family’s own experience adopting a pet from Furry Kids Refuge. Seeing how many animals need homes really opened my eyes. I’ve always loved animals, but that experience made me realize that I could actually do something to help. It’s important to me because animals can’t speak for themselves—they rely on us for protection and care. By raising money and making donations, I feel like I’m contributing in a small but meaningful way to something bigger. In competitive dance, you have to be completely in tune with your body and have a strong sense of timing, and that has translated into my mindset in other sports. For example, in basketball, being precise with your movements and timing is key to being effective on the court. Dance also requires a lot of mental toughness, especially during competitions, and that’s helped me stay focused and calm under pressure in other areas of my life.

What does community service mean to you, and how has your involvement at Abundant Life Church influenced your outlook on giving back?

To me, community service is about recognizing that we all have something to offer, no matter how big or small.
